Minister of Education and Science of Tatarstan holds 2025 roundup press conference at APP

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan held its final press conference for 2025 at APP. Minister Ilsur Khadiullin answered questions from representatives of leading republican media outlets.
“We are grateful to you. Throughout the year, you covered events, reported, visited, and filmed. Without you, none of our work directed at any audience would have been completed. Without the mass media, it would have remained halfway done. We thank you for your enormous work, creative and objective approach, sense of patriotism, because Tatarstan lives and prospers, has its own approaches to solving many issues,” minister Khadiullin greeted the journalists.
During the press conference, he focused on three key issues: infrastructure renewal, educational content, and personnel training. In particular, he discussed the renovation and construction of educational institutions, provincial projects, career guidance for schoolchildren, and other topics.
“The main issue now is personnel training, engineering personnel, improving the quality of education,” emphasized Khadiullin. “Without personnel, we would not be able to implement any innovative approaches. The world is changing, new specialties are appearing. By decision of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan two years ago, it was announced that Tatarstan needs to change its approaches to training engineering personnel. This starts with the Physics and Mathematics Breakthrough project.”
Among other things, journalists were interested in extracurricular workload on teachers, innovations in the State Final Assessment (middle school graduation exam) system, and several other current issues. For example, there was discussion about motivational support measures for teaching staff in the Republic of Tatarstan.
“This year, under the Breakthrough project, for the first time we are creating motivational conditions for teachers in higher educational institutions. Twenty university professors who work with our children in schools will each receive 200 thousand rubles,” the minister reported.
One question concerned the use of AI in the educational process. In Khadiullin’s opinion, it is important to teach children to use neural networks correctly.
“Artificial intelligence will help those who have natural intelligence. And if they don’t have it, it’s impossible to become smart, intelligent, or all-knowing. That’s what I think,” stated the official.
At the conclusion of the press conference, journalists were awarded for their contribution to science and education coverage.
It should be noted that the event took place at the Belem Scientific and Educational Center for Regional Education and Culture at the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of APP. It opened this past summer with the participation of Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. Before the start of the event, a tour was organized for the press.
Belem reflects the development of education on the territory of Tatarstan, covering a lengthy period of time – from the medieval era to the present day. The exhibition scenario, unique authentic monuments from different eras (from the 12th to the 21st century), modern multimedia tools, as well as an original artistic project make it interesting for the widest audience, from schoolchildren to educators.
