Rector Lenar Safin meets with Aide to the President of Russia Vladimir Medinsky
A meeting of the regional branch of the Russian Military History Society took place at 抖阴APP导航 on 24 April.
Dr Medinsky is the chairman of RMHS and was personally present this time. During the event, he handed over a membership card of the society to the Rector.
“The worldview of a young person is being shaped from the school bench, but the university atmosphere is especially conducive to letting them feel the thread of time. Our university is a living testament to such a connection. We give keys to understanding the present through studying the past. That’s why patriotic moral education is not an additional workload, but a foundation of education for us, because we have to bring up a generation of people knowing the history of their country and ready to build its future,” said the Rector.
Head of the regional branch of RMHSTimur Kamaletdinov then gave a report of the branch’s activities in the last year and its plans for 2026.
Dr Medinsky had high praise for the branch and shared his recommendations for the future. He warned against mechanical growth of the branch’s membership, emphasizing the importance of quality over quantity. He also opined that the branch should arrange cooperation with the local colleagues from the Russian Union of Writers.
A detailed discussion was held about educational projects. “Popularization of history begins in school., and textbooks are so important that they shouldn’t only be the responsibility of history professionals,” noted the guest, inviting the branch activists to be involved in textbook authorship and revision.
He reminded that a new version of a textbook on the history of Tatarstan is under preparation, and the local RMHS branch has to make sure that the key events and personalities are properly mentioned.
