Sabantuy harvest festival held for Summer University participants
On 15 July, young people from around the world could join the traditional celebration with games, contests, dances, and much more.
In particular, the visitors were divided into men’s and women’s teams and had to perform traditional Tatar dances. After that, they were given opportunities to show their own ethnic choreography.
“We got acquainted with Tatar culture and also showed our dances and traditions. It’s great to see that people from various countries get to know about our small land of Abkhazia,” shared Milena Depelyan.
The holiday culminated with athletic events.
“We lost in the first round, but were victorious in the second,” said Boburzhon Mustafoev from Uzbekistan.
