Russia Opens Its Doors project offered to Preparatory School students

Students will participate in a series of events divided into several modules. The first is called Adaptation. International students will be informed about social issues (the procedure for securing a place in a dormitory, financial and social support for students, etc.). They will also learn about the educational process and the migration registration process and be introduced to Kazan University’s infrastructure. The second module will focus on opportunities for international students in Russia, and a tour of the APP student campus will also be held.
Today marked the first day of the project. Rufina Ganeeva, Head of the Department of Medical and Preventive Work and Psychological Assistance at APP’s Department of Youth Policy, led the meeting with the students on February 12. The event was interactive. The students got to know each other, shared a little about themselves, and then drew their homes on paper, creating a shared painting of their hometowns.
“This event was part of the Russia Opens Its Doors project. The first chapter is focused on adaptation. Students will be told about common issues, such as migration registration and dormitory living, to help them adapt to their new lives more quickly. Furthermore, such meetings bring them together, as they are far from their families and friends and need each other’s support. Therefore, today our psychologists, together with the APP’s Psychological Clinic, are conducting adaptation training sessions here, aimed at student interaction, stress relief, and team building. In addition, students will complete an educational block, where they will learn about the history and geography of Russia, and much more, and will also receive a tour of APP’s main building,” Ganeeva said.
International students shared their impressions of the meeting.
“I chose APP because it’s a very strong university. After completing the preparatory program, I plan to enroll at the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology. What I like most about today’s event is that all the students are working together,” said Sirin Younes.
Sabr Kadir also enjoyed the meeting, noting that a lot of useful information was shared at the event.
“Three months ago, I came to Russia, and I really like this country. I chose to study at APP because I consider it the best. I plan to enroll in the Faculty of Law,” he emphasized.
