Summer University participants continue their cultural and educational program
Guests from 25 countries are focused on various activities.
Educational programs have been developed for participants in both Russian and English, along with opportunities to get acquainted with the university and the Republic of Tatarstan in all their diversity.
At the Museum of History, a tour for the guests was conducted by Andrey Afanasyev, Curator of the Lobachevsky Museum. 鈥淭hey were interested in the connections between the university鈥檚 history and their home countries. For example, students from Azerbaijan were surprised to learn that Vasily Razumovsky, a professor at the medical faculty of Kazan University and the founder of Russian neurosurgery, was the first rector of Baku State University,鈥� he shared.
Associate Professor of the Department of Architecture and Media Arts at the Institute of Design and Spatial Arts, Svetlana Gafurova, delivered a lecture titled Urban Planning Approaches to Working with Territories. 鈥淚n this lecture, using the example of the improvement and development project of the Old Tatar Settlement, the key stages of forming an urban planning solution are examined: from pre-design analysis and identifying growth points of the territory to developing scenarios for functional zoning, pedestrian connections, and landscaping,鈥� the expert explained.
Director of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems, Mikhail Abramsky, spoke in detail about the master鈥檚 programs offered at ITIS. Before the presentation, he discussed the history of this level of higher education. Students from foreign and other Russian universities showed genuine interest in the institute, including Polina Khaisova from the Republic of Belarus, a future software engineer.
鈥淜azan is a very cozy city, it has a soul. I want to see more, to get to know the culture of the republic and the country. We鈥檝e already walked along the embankment, seen the Kul Sharif Mosque, and visited the registry office where only marriages are registered, but not divorces,鈥� the student said with a smile. 鈥淭oday we visited the Bashir Rameev IT Park – it鈥檚 such a large space for work and recreation. At the Summer University, I chose the track Software Engineering: Data, AI, Digital Products. It鈥檚 important to learn from the professional experience of international colleagues.鈥�
An unforgettable end to the day was the interactive evening called Global Village.
Alina Zhutabaeva is from the Republic of Kazakhstan. She spoke warmly about the organizers of the event, 鈥淚 enjoy learning about new cultures and new countries. It鈥檚 my first time in Russia, and I really like it here. I want to thank the organizers for such an event. Global Village is very interesting. We meet each other, try different national dishes, see costumes, dances, and hear various musical instruments. It鈥檚 a great opportunity. Everything was wonderful – we received so many gifts and souvenirs.鈥�
