6th Forum of Universities of Russia and Belarus and 3rd Forum of the League of Rectors of Russia, Belarus, and Brazil
Director of the International Office Olga Vershinina and Associate Professor Lilia Ilikova visited the event in Minsk, Belarus.
The participants were greeted by Minister of Education of Belarus Andrey Ivanets and Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Konstantin Mogilevsky.
Mr Mogilevsky noted the importance of the Network University of High Technology of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, whose coordinator on the Russian side is APP. Rector of Belarusian State Technological University Sergey Kasperovich invited other universities to join the project.
“Over these two days, we were able to learn about our colleagues’ experiences in expanding cooperation in science and education and visit leading Belarusian universities – partners of APP. We discussed current cooperation projects. During the visit to BSTU, we discussed the implementation of the Action Plan (roadmap) of the Union State Network University of High Technology, including funding and the launch of academic mobility programs. At a meeting with colleagues from the Belarusian National Technical University, we discussed the organization of the upcoming 15th Forum of Engineering and Technology Universities, Universities of the Future: Integration of Education, Science, and Industry, which will be held in November. This year, we are honored to host the 15th anniversary forum at APP,” noted Olga Vershinina.
The 3rd Forum of Rectors was visited by over 50 executives from Russia, Belarus, and Brazil. Among the participants were the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, the Federal University of Minas Gerais, the University of São Paulo, and others.
“Our Brazilian colleagues presented their universities, their key educational and research programs, and promising projects. They expressed great interest in expanding cooperation with Russian and Belarusian universities in a wide range of scientific and educational areas, including social sciences and humanities, environmental science, artificial intelligence and IT, Russian and Portuguese language courses, as well as academic exchanges and mobility,” said Lilia Ilikova.
