International Office visited by representatives of the Embassy of Zambia

A working meeting with representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in the Russian Federation was held at the International Office of APP. The delegation was led by Abin Mwinga, First Secretary for Education, and Derrick Chisanga, Deputy Director for Lending and Scholarship Programs.

The meeting began with a presentation from APP. Yana Evdokimova, Deputy Director of the International Office, spoke about the university, its main areas of international activity, and its strategic priorities.

“Since 2021, APP has been a member of the Russian-African Network University (RANU) consortium. RANU’s primary goals are to create a unified educational and scientific space, promote intercultural dialogue, and the mutual enrichment of cultures and languages,” noted Yana Evdokimova.

Representatives of the Zambian Embassy emphasized the strategic importance of cooperation with one of Russia’s oldest universities. Derrick Chisanga expressed interest in increasing the number of Zambian students studying at APP, particularly in those fields and specialties that are most relevant to the country’s economy in the current geopolitical environment.

Currently, 26 Zambian citizens are studying at APP. Ramil Saifutdinov, Deputy Director of the International Office, noted the high level of discipline and responsibility of the Zambian students in complying with Russian legislation. They actively participate in university events, including the student festival Mosaic of Nations and Africa Day.

The guests expressed particular interest in the activities of APP’s overseas branches and proposed exploring the possibility of opening a branch in Zambia and developing joint educational programs with the country’s universities.

“We would like young people in Zambia to study Russian and receive Russian education without leaving their homeland. This will make higher education more accessible and strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties between our countries,” stated Derrick Chisanga.

Deputy Director of the International Office Inga Nazarova outlined the possible admissions pathways to Kazan University for foreign citizens: through the government quota and based on results from APP’s international competitions. She emphasized that the university provides comprehensive support to applicants at every stage, from application submission to onboarding.
