Union State Network University of High Technology’s future discussed by Rector Lenar Safin and Deputy Secretary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus Alexey Kazakov

Also participating in the meeting were Timirkhan Alishev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs; Dmitry Pashin, Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation and Innovation; Anton Yegorchev, Director of the Institute of Computational Mathematics and IT; Mikhail Abramsky, Director of the Institute of IT and Intelligent Systems;; and Dmitry Chikrin, Director of the Institute of AI, Robotics and Systems Engineering.
The Rector noted that common ground with universities participating in the network consortium is primarily in engineering and the development of artificial intelligence. He stated that a number of effective solutions already exist that can strengthen the technological sovereignty of the Union State.
“By combining our resources, we can achieve synergy in this area. Overall, the Network University plans to jointly address a range of issues, from producing a new generation of qualified professionals to practical developments in high-tech and knowledge-intensive industries,” explained Lenar Safin.
Alexey Kazakov, in turn, emphasized that this issue is of great importance to the leadership of both countries, and any project with integrative properties is of interest. He also reported that a number of programs are currently being considered for funding in the near future.
Kazan University then demonstrated its capabilities in each of the aforementioned areas and presented several projects related to the production and testing of unmanned agricultural machinery, training and organizing project work for students in software engineering, and the creation of joint academic exchange programs.
The decision to launch USNUHT was approved in 2024 by the leadership of Russia and Belarus. This initiative aims to unite the educational and scientific resources of the two countries’ leading universities.
APP has been designated as the flagship university for Russia, and Belarusian State Technological University – for Belarus.
