SLW Tip 3
Cleaning the Bedroom
By John Perrodin

Do you allow piles to form around your bedroom? Like reams
of paper, loads of laundry, mounds of shoes? You know you're
in trouble when you have to create a path to reach your bed.

And you'll also find that it's more difficult to get a good night's
sleep when you've get a mess to mind. That's why it's a great
policy to keep your sleep space clear. It will cut down on your
stress and irritation. (After all, doesn't everyone deserve a place
of refuge? Sure you do!)

So what do you do? Start with the bed. Take off everything
that doesn't belong. Pop clean clothes in the dresser, toss the
soiled stuff in the laundry basket, and then make your bed.
Hey, if it's a good policy for the kids you should follow their
lead.

Here's why. Once you have a neat bed at the center of your
room, you'll find it far easier to clean up the rest of the clutter.
Try it -- you'll see. Find places for everything and vow not to
let the mess build again. (But if it does, now you know the
secret to digging out!)

Ruined Shirt Saved
By Michelle Cox

Don't you hate it when you get ink on your favorite shirt?
When you get home, spray the spot generously with hair spray.
Then wash the item immediately so the stain won't set.

Try it! I've always been amazed at how well this works.

Easy Entertaining
By Michelle Cox

  • Line a basket with a pretty napkin and fill with pretzels,
    nuts or Chex mix.
  • Buy cubed cheeses and arrange them on a pretty platter
    with a variety of crackers.
  • Purchase petite croissants or biscuits; slice and then add
    honey-glazed ham or smoked turkey.
  • Serve a platter of raw veggies with a container of dip. (I
usually use a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch dip mix
made according to the package directions.)
  • Arrange a platter of fresh fruits and serve with this easy
cheese-cake dip. (Blend 8 oz. of softened cream cheese
with 1 jar of marshmallow cream. Add enough red food
coloring to make it a pretty color.)
  • Spoon orange marmalade over 8 oz. of cream cheese.
Serve with gingersnaps or Ritz crackers.
